Lot 40: Bold New Life for a Historic Derby Landmark

Falcon Building Group were engaged to redevelop the former Derby Tin Mine Museum into Lot 40 – a multifunctional hospitality venue positioned to serve both locals and the growing tourism market in northeast Tasmania.
With Derby emerging as a key destination for mountain biking, the client required a fit-for-purpose space that could accommodate a bar, cafe, microbrewery, dining zones, and outdoor service areas – all while preserving the integrity of the existing structure.
SCOPE OF WORKS:
The client’s vision was to modernise the cafe and restaurant space, creating a more functional layout, updated finishes and enhanced comfort for customers. This project involved a complete internal reconfiguration and external works to support new operations requirements.
The scope of work included:
- Deck extension with integrated balustrade
- Upgraded amenities, seating areas, and acoustic treatment
- Installation of barn doors
