Arthur Street Childcare Centre

Project Overview

Located in the fast growing township of Sorell, the new Arthur Street Childcare Centre provides a modern, purpose built early learning environment for local families. Falcon Building Group managed the design and construction of the single-storey facility, delivering a bright, functional, and engaging space designed to support the next generation of learners.

The project was completed in close collaboration with the client and consultants, achieving a high quality finish that balances playful design with durability and compliance — ready to welcome children for years to come.

Timelines & Expectations

Construction commenced in February 2025 and was completed October 2025. The program was carefully structured to meet regulatory and licensing milestones, with works sequenced around key approval dates and service connections to ensure the centre could open on schedule.

Scope Of Work

Falcon Building Group was engaged to deliver a new childcare facility complete with indoor learning spaces, staff amenities, and secure outdoor play areas.

Key elements included:

· Purpose built activity rooms and sleep areas

· Commercial kitchen and administration office

· Outdoor play zones with shade structures and soft fall surfaces

· On site car parking and landscaped surrounds

From the outset, the brief emphasized creating a warm, natural atmosphere that encouraged exploration while maintaining strong compliance with early learning standards.

Challenges & Key Outcomes

The Sorell site presented several technical and logistical challenges, including managing site gradients and integrating multiple service connections within a compact footprint. The Falcon Building Group team maintained clear communication with consultants and subcontractors to ensure design intent and buildability remained aligned throughout.

Early engagement with key partners also enabled efficient coordination of finishes, joinery and external works, ensuring the final outcome met both client expectation and regulatory benchmarks. The result is a welcoming childcare environment that feels safe, open, and connected to its surroundings.
